How to set up News Groups in Outlook Express

Before continuing you will need to hand your ISP-Q login username and password.

1) Open Outlook Express. In the top left of the screen click the Tools button once. A list will drop down. Click Accounts once; this will open a new window. In it, select the News tab and then click Add (top right) and then the News button to the right of it.

2) The Your Name window will appear. Enter your full name and then click Next .

3) The Internet News Email Address window will appear. Enter your ISP-Q email address and click Next .

4) The Internet News Server Name window will appear. The name of our news server ( news.isp-q.com ) should already be entered. If not, type this in yourself and then click Next .

5) The Friendly Name window will appear. Again, the name of our news server ( news.isp-q.co.uk ) should already be entered. If not, type this in yourself and then click Next .

6) The Choose Connection Type window will appear. Ensure that the box headed Connect using my phone line is checked. Then click Next .

7) The Choose modem Type window may then appear. If it does, ensure that the correct modem is selected in the pull down window, before clicking Next .

8) A window will then appear named Dial-Up Connection. Ensure that the box labeled "Use an existing Dial-Up connection" is checked, then highlight the name of your connection and click Next .

9) Click on Finish to complete the set up process.

You may be prompted to connect to ISP-Q to download any new mailby a window headed Select the connection you would like to dial. If you do want to connect at this point make sure that the ISP-Q connection is selected from the drop-down menu before clicking OK (if you do not wish to connect at this point just click Finish instead).

If you have chosen to connect to ISP-Q a window will be displayed named Connect To. Please make sure that "Phone" is set to <Default> before clicking OK . You will now connect.
