Set Up Access on Windows NT4

1) Go to  My Computer  and find  Dial Up Networking . Click  OK  to add an entry.

2) The "New Phonebook Entry Wizard" opens. Name this entry
ISP-Q and click the  Next  button. This will take you to the second stage of the wizard.

3) In the window called "Server" you should ensure that all three boxes are checked. This is very important as it determines how details will be sent on to us when connecting. Click the  Next  button to proceed to the "Phone Number" window.

4) You should now enter the phone number you need to dial to connect to us (Modems: 0845 660 2455; ISDN : 0845 660 2454). Click  Next .

5) In the "Serial Line Protocol" window, check the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) radio button and click  Next .

6) The next window is the "Login Script" window. Make sure the None option is selected and click  Next .

7) The "IP Address" window and "Name Server Addresses" window should look like the images beneath (i.e. all boxes are set to 0 . 0 . 0 . 0 )

Click  Next  to proceed to the final window and  Next  again to finish the setup.

8) Now you will see a window called "Dial-Up Networking". On this screen, click the  More  button then select  Edit entry and modem properties...  to open the window shown below. Click the "Server" tab:

Make sure that the screen you have in front of you is exactly as shown in the screenshot above, then click  TCP/IP Settings... 

9) On the new window, check that Server Assigned IP Address and Server Assigned Name Server Addresses are both selected. Now click the  OK  button.

10) Continue to click  OK  until you are back to a window with a  Dial  button at the bottom. Click  Dial  to open the following window:

11) Enter your ISP-Q username and password, and make sure there is nothing in the Domain field. When you click  OK  the modem or ISDN Terminal Adapter should dial and you connect you to ISp-Q.
