Set Up Access on Windows 95/98/ME

Go to  My Computer . In here you should see an icon called  Dial-Up Networking .

Double-click on  Make New Connection  to bring up the screen below. Type "Connect" as the connection name. Your modem should appear automatically in the "Select a modem" box. If it isn't there then choose it from the drop-down list (if it isn't available then it is not installed correctly).

Now click  Next  and enter our dialup number (Modems: 0845 660 2455; ISDN : 0845 660 2454) in the telephone number box and select  United Kingdom  in the "Country code" box.

Click  Next  and then  Finish . Now you should have a new "Connect" Dial-Up connection icon in the dialup networking window.

You need to configure the properties of the new connection. To do this, right-click on the new icon and select  Properties from the drop-down menu. The window below will appear.

Select the "Server Types" tab and make sure that your window matches the picture below:

Now click on the  TCP/IP Settings...  button and make sure your window matches the picture below:

Click  OK ; you will return to the "Dial-Up Networking" window. Double-click on your new "Connect" icon. Enter your user name and password and click  Connect
