Setting Up on a Mac OS7x

Remember : you will need to have already installed a modem before you do the following.

In  Control Panels , select  Mac TCP/IP  then  PPP  (see below - make sure the IP Address field is set to 0.0.0.0 before you click  More .

You will then see this window:

In the Obtain Address section, ensure that  Manually  is selected. In the IP Address section select "A" from the  Class  pull down menu. In the Domain Name Server Information :
(a) type a full stop in the  Domain  box
(b) type "80.225.253.50" in the  IP Address  box
(c) ensure the  Default  option is selected.
(d) type a full stop in the second  Domain  box
(e) type "80.225.254.178" in the second  IP Address  box
(f) ensure the  Default  option is selected.

Now you are ready to select  Server  from the Obtain Address section and press the  OK  button. Back in  Control Panels , choose  Config PPP . When you click the  New  button you will see the PPP server name window as below. Type "Connect" and click  OK , then click the  Config...  button.

Then modify all entries to make your window match the one pictured below, except the port speed and phone number. Enter the dialup number (Modems: 0845 660 2455; ISDN : 0845 660 2454) and select the correct port speed for your device.

Click  Connect Script...

You should set your window to look like the picture above, but do not forget to replace
"-ENTER USER NAME HERE-" and "-ENTER USER PASSWORD HERE-" with your own user name and password. Click the  OK  button and you are ready to connect to the internet.
